About our Online Edition:

• Our Source: Our online edition of The Handbook is a complete scan of the 10th Printing of US Government version of The Handbook.
• Scanning & Posting: We scanned all 1060 pages of the book in black-and-white at 300 dpi. We wrote a custom program that removed the white space from around each page. We then downsized those images to provide 100dpi, 150dpi, and 200dpi versions of each page on our Web site.
• OCR: We scanned all of the non-table pages for OCR, so that we could provide the text from those pages under each image.  We did not proofread nor correct any of the text from the OCR scan.
• Purchase: We are selling a high-quality 300dpi version of the book in Adobe PDF format. You can download a sample and purchase a copy by clicking here.
• Public Domain: The page scans from the Handbook, and the text in the text box below each page scan, are contributions of the National Institute of Standards and Technology that are not subject to copyright in the United States.
